Erdem Gorgun holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and has nearly 30 years of experience across engineering, research, R&D, academia, and executive leadership in environmental sciences.
From 2000 to 2004, he served as a researcher and manager at the Environment & Energy Institute of The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), Marmara Research Center. Following this, he returned to ITU’s Environmental Engineering Department and founded io Environmental Solutions R&D Ltd. at ITU Technopark.
As an expert and project director, Erdem has led initiatives in environmental impact assessments for industries and energy investments, water resources and river basin management, wastewater management, air quality management, and solid & hazardous waste management. His work continues to shape sustainable environmental practices through research-driven solutions and strategic leadership.
